Fading Maize

Live

A 2001 band, carried into 2026

In 2001, a Ripon College band recorded original songs in a dorm room, played shows around Wisconsin, and then did what most college bands do: faded. The recordings sat in an archive for 25 years.

Fading Maize brings them back, both ways at once. Three albums have been reimagined with AI-assisted production while every original recording keeps streaming beside its new version, so you can hear 2001 and 2026 side by side. The revival runs on five public principles: consent, authorship, provenance, nothing erased, nobody displaced.

The full archive came along too: recovered photos, show footage, flyers, and the preserved original 2001 website.
